Booking questions

How many people are in the band?

Three. Diane Fields plays keys and sings. Mike Fields plays drums and runs the sound. Adam Bennett plays clarinet and sax, sings and manages the band. All three of us play every show.

Where does the band travel?

Our home base is Asheville, NC. We travel up to 4 hours from Asheville. That covers North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia.

What days does the band play?

Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Our peak season runs August to October. Open dates show on our calendar at afpolka.com/calendar.

What kinds of events does the band play?

Multi-day festivals, brewery Oktoberfests, taprooms, city and community Oktoberfests, church Oktoberfests, country clubs, HOA events, German clubs and German markets. Corporate events can book our full show.

What does the band bring?

Our own sound system, and Mike runs it. We add lighting when the event needs it. Every show has the Chicken Dance. Günther von Cluckenstein, our 8-foot inflatable chicken, joins some shows.

How long does the band play?

Bookings run 3 hours or more. Each hour has at least 45 minutes of music and a 15-minute break.

What does the band need at the venue?

Two outlets on at least one 20-amp circuit. We arrive about 2 hours before the start to load in. Load-out takes about 45 minutes. A taproom corner, a tent or a stage gives us enough room.

Can the band play indoors and outdoors?

Yes. For an outdoor show, plan a covered or indoor backup spot in case of rain.

How do I hold a date?

Send us your date, city and type of event. We send you a quote and a contract. Return the signed contract and the deposit within 7 days. We confirm the date when both arrive.

Does the band take song requests?

Ask us. Call (828) 231-4121 or email info@afpolka.com.
